The Young Lover and the Old King: Reflections on Kohelet from Marcus Aurelius to Leonard Cohen

  • Der Nister Downtown Jewish Center 639 South Spring Street 14a Los Angeles, CA, 90014 United States (map)

Is Kohelet a Biblical version of Stoic philosophy? Or does it maintain some of the hopeful, redemptive spirit of the Hebrew Prophets? Does the scroll preach resignation, or surrender - and what would be the difference? Come join us in the Sukkah at Der Nister for questions like these as we grapple with the most philosophical book in Tanakh, led by two rabbis who love philosophy and Tanakh, Ye'ela Rosenfeld, of Der Nister, and David Kasher of Hadar West.

Come join us for the first of five gatherings around the five megilot run by Hadar West and Der Nister.
